Jim Dooley started his Lifeguard Career
in 1980 at Smith Point. After only five seasons Jim became
a Captain. In 1989 Jim started competing and quickly became
one of the country's top beach flaggers and sprinters. In 1994
Jim led off the National Championship 4x100 team; and, in 2005
Jim led Smith Point to the U.S. Team title as one of
its Co-Captains. Jim and his wife Loraine have four wonderful
children. Patrick and Timothy are both top young guards at
the Point and Cassie and Courtney are stars in the Jr. Lifeguard
Program. In 2006 Jim was named Chief after his good friend
Tim Delaney decided to step down.
