Tim Delaney started his ocean lifeguard career in 1974 at Smith Point Park. After only 6 years Tim was named Assistant Chief under the Legendary Joseph W. Dooley. After 20 years as Mr. Dooley’s right hand man, Tim became Chief Lifeguard in 1999. During his tenure Mr. Delaney maintained the outstanding record of “0” drownings. Tim Delaney as one of the country’s top land pullers has led the Smith Point team to numerous Local and Regional titles. In 2005 Tim led Smith Point to the U.S. National team title.
